Camp Loyaltown is a large residential summer camp for developmentally disabled children and adults. Our Campers range in age from 6 years to 80 plus years old; most of the campers are between 10 years old– and 60 years old.
The Driver is required to drive when the need arises in a safe and efficient manner. This may include drop off and pick up of staff, as well as camper trips to the doctor’s office or hospital. Driving will be 6 days a week on an on-call basis. Shifts will be arranged with the Operations Manager.
In this role, you will:
- Practice and promote the agencies’ mission statements in every interaction: Through family and community engagement, Citizens supports people to live the life they choose.
- Adhere to all regulations, agency policy and procedures, the employee handbook, and agency and program training requirements.
- Report to the Justice Center as a mandated reporter if there is reasonable cause to suspect abuse or neglect; Additionally, must follow all agency incident policies and procedures.
- Be responsible for transporting campers to and from the doctor’s office and hospital.
- Become familiar with AHRC/Citizens Vehicle policy including trip records and mileage reports.
- Drive staff for day off trips if approved by the director and no other trips are scheduled.
- Be friendly, pleasant, and professional at all times.
We require:
- NYS Driver’s License
- Minimum 21 years of age
- 20/20 corrected vision
- Clean driving record
- Maintenance of a qualified driving status according to agency policy
- Ability to read road maps, use a GPS, and follow directions
