Summer Camp Counselor

Job Summary
We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Camp Counselors to join our team for an engaging and fun-filled camp experience. As a Camp Counselor, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, supportive, and enriching environment for children. You will lead activities, provide guidance, and foster positive relationships with campers while ensuring their well-being and enjoyment throughout their time at camp.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and engage with campers during various activities, ensuring safety and enjoyment.
• Plan and implement age-appropriate games, arts and crafts, sports, and educational activities.
• Provide support to campers in developing social skills, teamwork, and self-confidence.
• Maintain a positive atmosphere by encouraging participation and celebrating individual achievements.
• Communicate effectively with parents regarding camper progress and any concerns.
• Assist in managing group dynamics and resolving conflicts among campers.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including administering first aid when necessary.
• Collaborate with fellow counselors to create a cohesive team environment.

Experience
Ideal candidates will possess the following skills or experiences:

• Previous experience in a camp setting or similar childcare environment.
• Background in special education or early childhood education is a plus.
• Familiarity with classroom management techniques.
• Experience in babysitting or daycare settings is beneficial.
• Knowledge of first aid procedures to ensure camper safety.
• A passion for education through creative outlets such as theater or arts.

Pay: $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
