Desired Qualifications:
Preferred: Teaching certification
Experience: Experience teaching Cooking and experience with classroom management preferred
The Sewataro Cooking program operates 27 activity periods/week, and sees campers ages 6-14.
Activity counselors follow three simple precepts: play safe, make it fun, and teach the skills!
General and specific responsibilities:
Essential Functions:
Able to teach skills to campers, effectively manage the behavior of a group of children, keep campers safe and assist campers in an emergency situation. Able to follow direction, apply good judgment and to play and embody a spirit of fun. Able to maintain supervision of campers at all times. Capable of effective and sustained mental, emotional, and social interaction with others in the camp’s fast-paced, youth-centered, community living environment.
Has to be capable of standing/walking/dancing on an 8-hour daily basis on varied terrain.
Experience: Experience teaching Cooking and experience with classroom management preferred.
Hours: 8:00 AM – 4:00PM, Monday - Friday
Camp Season: June 26-August 18
(No camp Monday, July 4 - paid day off!)
