What are the responsibilities and job description for the Wilderness Adventure Program Director position at Camp Tawonga?
Camp Tawonga is a vibrant community in the mountains where you can live, work, and play. Our residential children's summer camp located outside Yosemite National Park, established in 1925, offers an incredible opportunity to foster positive self-image for campers, create a cooperative community, teach children to live in partnership with nature, and offer children a positive experience of spirituality.
We are hiring wilderness leaders for summer 2025 who can guide 1-2 night backpacking trips in Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada Mountains in California. You will facilitate groups of youth on our challenge course and co-lead multi-week teen travel adventures involving climbing, rafting, hiking, camping, backpacking, and surfing.
As a member of our community of almost 200 dedicated individuals, you will be part of a larger network of incredible outdoor educators. If you do not possess certain certifications, we will help cover the costs of obtaining them before the job start date. Experience with children and prior experience backpacking are essential for this role.
Our team provides food and lodging at our amazing location on the Tuolumne River just outside of Yosemite National Park. We are a vital Jewish community where children thrive, and we strive to create a positive experience for all our staff members.
