Teaching in the marketing discipline at the undergraduate and graduate levels; providing service to the department, school, and university; to be active in their field both within the academy and the business community.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Teaches Marketing courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels
- Teaches courses on Main Campus, at the Raleigh Campus, and online
- Formally advises students
- Stays current in the Marketing discipline and crafts new courses reflecting marketing in today’s business environment
- Takes a leadership role in developing and growing the Marketing major
- Encourages Marketing majors to participate in external events, competitions, and internships
- Works closely with the LFSB Director of Career Services to prepare students for internships and permanent positions, as well as takes the lead in cultivating prospective employers
- Designs and delivers professional development offerings to the business community
- Actively participates in LFSB programs, events, and activities
- Master’s degree in business; Ph.D. in Marketing desired.
- Experience in teaching at the university level, including online delivery
- Experience in the private business sector desired
- Experience in delivering professional education programs desired
- Active in academic research, with an identifiable research stream desired
- Ability to deliver a variety of marketing discipline courses
- Knowledge and fluency with digital marketing and marketing analytics
- Ability to conduct training is sales and marketing to business community
- Strong affinity and commitment to student engagement
- Interest and skills for applying technology to marketing discipline
- Ability to communicate effectively to all groups through both oral and written channels.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills.
- Familiarity with utilizing/administering social media platforms used for marketing applications.
- Demonstrate tact, a positive attitude, courtesy, respect, and discretion in dealing with faculty, staff, students, high-level university officials and the public.
- Work independently as well as function effectively within a diverse team.
- Exercise good judgment in complex, new, and/or stressful situations.
