Position Summary :
The Post-Award Grant Coordinator supports principal investigators and project directors (PIs / PDs) across campus to ensure compliance with all project and budgetary requirements throughout the performance period of externally funded awards. This position ensures adherence to sponsor guidelines, University policies, and applicable local, state, and federal regulations. Reporting to the Director of the Office of Sponsored Research and Programs (OSRP), the Post-Award Grant Coordinator plays a vital role in the administration of sponsored projects.
The Campbell University Office of Sponsored Research and Programs (OSRP) is dedicated to establishing and nurturing a dynamic environment that maximizes external funding for research, scholarly, and creative pursuits. OSRP provides guidance and support to the university community in its research efforts, fostering an administrative environment that encourages innovation while minimizing the university's financial, contractual, and regulatory exposures. This ensures the protection of the university's financial and contractual obligations while facilitating compliance with sponsor requirements.
This role is integral to ensuring the integrity and compliance of the University's externally funded research activities while fostering strong partnerships with sponsors and internal stakeholders. The Post-Award Grant Coordinator advances OSRP's mission to support research excellence and administrative efficiency across the university community.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Review terms and conditions of new awards for issues involving allowable costs, reallocating the original award budget, and submitting necessary paperwork for sponsor approval.
- Monitor financial conflicts of interest as they pertain to grants and work with the Director of OSRP to ensure compliance with federal, state, and University policies and regulations.
- Support post-award responsibilities including award setup, monitoring budgets / expenses, reporting variances, account reconciliations, subawards, contractual agreements, and close-out procedures.
- Maintain ongoing updates and communications with PIs / PDs related to current grants and contracts progress and financial reporting.
- Primary accounting contact for PIs / PDs and departmental support staff related to research project management, budget and expense analysis, and reporting.
- Coordinate with sponsors, faculty, and University departments for invoicing, payment, and reporting of sponsored project expenses according to grant / contract requirements.
- Monitor voluntary and mandatory cost share.
- Oversee human resources processes related to grant-funded personnel and track payroll expenditures.
- Complete risk assessments on sub-award entities and monitor sub-award contracts, extensions, and amendments.
- Proactively ensure expenditures charged to sponsored projects are compliant with federal, state, University, and other agency policies and regulations.
- Support grant budget development by providing cost data and ensuring compliance with sponsoring agency's regulations and University policies and procedures.
