The Project Manager is responsible for managing pipeline and facilities projects including planning, design construction and closeout. They manage different teams of professionals in the execution of this work depending on the stage of the projects. Project Managers work closely and interactively with clients including reporting progress and making forecasts for cost and schedule. Project Managers are responsible for project scope, schedule, budget and change orders for assigned projects.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for thoroughly understanding and communicating client requirements and project risks to appropriate team members and managing all requirements to ensure client expectations are met.
  • Establish ownership of project tasks, ensure that team members have the skills and tools necessary to complete assigned tasks, and provide timely feedback to team members.
  • Supervise team of internal project managers and others.
  • Coordinate and facilitate project deliverables - determine project schedule by studying project plan and specifications, calculating time and manpower requirements, and sequencing project elements.
  • Track project progress, review project tasks and deliverables to make certain deadlines are met.
  • Assess project issues and identify solutions to ensure the project is delivered on time and within budget while meeting client and regulatory requirements.
  • On a weekly basis communicate status of project scope, schedule and budget, issues and risks to Program Manager and Senior Management.
  • Conduct regular status meetings with all internal stakeholders and client representatives.
  • Manage through Senior Engineer the engineering design, evaluation of engineering drawings, and comparison to client specifications. With the assistance of Senior Engineer engage appropriate team members to modify work products to ensure ongoing alignment with client expectations and requirements.
  • Ensure project compliance with appropriate government regulations, safety rules, and company and client policies.
  • Responsible for managing construction projects from initiation to closeout.
  • Responsible for coordinating, producing and scheduling engineering design drawing creation, easement and private land right acquisition, municipal permitting, environmental permitting, cost estimating, preparation of specifications and bid documents, gas line clearances and outage planning, coordination with construction contractor, commissioning of installations, and project financial closeout.
  • Requires ongoing coordination, communication and / or team problem solving between departments or functional areas and clients for work production or service quality. Responsible for team building and team development.
  • This position requires regular contact with project team employees, employees in multiple internal departments, client representatives. This position serves as the primary client contact and must professionally address client needs and manage client interactions to ensure client views company as a valued resource.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • This position requires 10 years of pipeline / facilities experience including a minimum of 4 years project management experience.
  • PMP preferred. If not a current PMP, incumbent will be required to obtain PMP within 12 months of employment.
  • Understanding of CFR 192 & 195 codes and applicable ASME and API standards is preferred.
  • Experience working for an operating company is desirable.
  • Experience working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Experience working in a matrix reporting structure preferred.

  • Software - Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio. Proficient in the use of Primavera.
  • Teamwork - Elicit feedback and cooperation from a wide variety of sources, project team members, other internal resources and client representatives.
  • Quality Focus - Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness; look for ways to improve the quality of project deliverables.
  • Resource Management - Ability to identify human capital needs, work with functional managers to obtain required resources, and manage resources from multiple functional disciplines.
  • PHYSICAL & TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • Incumbents will constantly utilize written and verbal communication skills including active listening and speaking and reach and grasp objects.
  • Incumbents will regularly experience periods of prolonged sitting, standing, walking, travel / drive a vehicle, and lift objects up to 25 lbs.
  • Incumbents will occasionally lift objects up to 50 lbs.
  • This position requires the incumbent to operate office equipment such as computers, telephones, fax machines and copiers.
  • Salary : $140K-$160K
