About the Role:
As a Mechanic in the Transportation and Warehousing industry, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of our fleet of diesel trucks and powered industrial trucks (propane and electric lifts) . Your primary responsibility will be to diagnose, repair, and maintain various mechanical systems, including brakes, hydraulics, and fuel systems. By performing routine inspections and addressing mechanical issues promptly, you will help minimize downtime and enhance operational productivity. Your expertise will contribute to the overall reliability of our vehicles, ensuring they are roadworthy and compliant with safety regulations. Ultimately, your work will support our commitment to delivering exceptional service to our clients and maintaining a high standard of operational excellence.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certification in combustible engine or diesel mechanics or forklift maintenance
- Proven experience working in a related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
- ASE certification or related specialties.
- Experience with advanced diagnostic tools and software.
- Familiarity with industry regulations and safety standards.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough inspections of diesel trucks to identify mechanical issues and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Perform repairs and maintenance on braking systems, hydraulics, fuel systems, and other essential components.
- Diagnose problems using diagnostic tools and equipment, and develop effective solutions to restore vehicle functionality.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance schedules, and parts inventory to ensure efficient operations.
- Collaborate with team members to improve processes and share knowledge regarding best practices in diesel mechanics.
Skills:
The required skills in brakes, engines, hydraulics, and fuel systems are essential for diagnosing and repairing mechanical issues effectively. Daily work will involve using these skills to conduct inspections and perform maintenance tasks that ensure the safety and reliability of our fleet. Proficiency in mechanics will enable you to troubleshoot complex problems and implement solutions that enhance vehicle performance. Additionally, familiarity with gaskets and alternators will be beneficial when addressing specific repairs and replacements. Overall, your technical skills will be critical in maintaining operational efficiency and supporting the transportation and material moving needs of our organization.
