As a Railway Signal Technician with Canadian Pacific, you will play a critical role in ensuring safe train movement across our vast network. Your primary responsibility will be to maintain and operate the wayside signal systems, including signals, crossings, and tracks. This involves supervising and adjusting signals, identifying malfunctions, and performing crucial repairs to the signal equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspecting, testing, and repairing signal equipment such as lights, track circuits, relays, and crossing gates
  • Diagnosing issues with signal systems and implementing corrective actions
  • Adjusting signal timing based on train schedules and track conditions
  • Installing new signal components and replacing worn-out parts
  • Maintaining detailed records of signal system operations and maintenance activities

You will work closely with your team to ensure accurate signal visibility and functionality, adhering to strict safety regulations. To succeed in this role, you should have a background in outdoor-related construction, with experience working with heavy equipment such as backhoes, trenchers, and trucks. A CDL license or ability to acquire one is also required due to the 70% travel requirement.
