What does an Accountant at CNB do?
This position will collaborate closely with the Accounting Supervisor and team, as well as the Controller and Assistant Controller, to perform a variety of duties to support the accounting functions. Examples of responsibilities include, but are not limited to, analyzing and reporting upon operating results; complying with operating policies and procedures as well as regulatory requirements; assisting in the compilation, organization, and delivery of items to auditors; communicating and interfacing within the Finance and Accounting departments as well as internal and external customers.
What is needed to be successful in this role?
- An associate’s degree in accounting, or related field required, specialized bank finance education and training preferred.
- A minimum of two (2) years' experience in related positions or banking, in general, preferred.
- Excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail;
- Proficiency with a PC and associated programs (such as Microsoft Office);
- General knowledge of accounting principles and procedures;
- Familiarity with financial statement analysis.
What does a successful first year in this position look like?
- Maintains accurate accounting records.
- Accounts Payable duties including processing invoices, preparing reports, and completing payments to ensure adherence to control structure.
- Reviews various documents, transactions, and worksheets relating to the accounting process; makes required general ledger entries.
- Calculates accruals and prepares various statements and account summaries.
- Monitors accounts, checks, entries, and transactions; reports significant discrepancies to supervisor/controller.
- Prepares periodic (daily/weekly/monthly) reconcilements of balance sheet accounts.
- Assists colleagues in identifying reconciling differences/processing errors.
- Maintains capitalized assets and prepaids in the accounting software.

Compensation range- $22 - $24.00 per hour
The actual salary offered within the range is dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, qualifications, skills, level offered, and performance expectations.
