About the Position:

Canature WaterGroup™ is looking for a driven, talented, and personable individual to join our Commercial Industrial Engineering team.  Reporting to the Director, Sales and Marketing for CIED, the Business Development Manager will be responsible for leading sales growth for our commercial wholesale business within the Great Lakes Region of the USA. This role requires close collaboration with Manufacturer’s Representatives, Regional Sales Managers and Specialized Distribution Channel Partners to develop and execute effective sales strategies.

The Business Development Manager will have a technical sales background and the demonstrated ability to facilitate training and education with our business partners. This role will be required to conduct regular training on Canature WaterGroup products, services but also effective sales techniques. The Business Development Manager will also be required to travel, often up to 60%.

Sales Growth and Territory Management:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with Manufacturer Representative partners, distributors, contractors, consulting engineers and end users to drive sales growth within the Great Lakes Region of the USA.
  • Collaborate with manufacturer’s representatives and the Director of Sales to develop and implement comprehensive sales plans and budgets aimed at expanding business and increasing market share.
  • Conduct regular joint calls with Manufacturers Representative partners
  • Regularly assess territory sales performance, comparing results to budget and pinpointing opportunities for improvement.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities
  • Identify landmark projects and their potential. Work to have our products specified on the project(s) and see the projects(s) through to fruition.

Product & Application Training:

  • Conduct regular training sessions for partners and customers, strategically splitting them between our training center and on-location / in the field sessions
  • Training topics will include new and existing products, water treatment fundamentals, sales training and troubleshooting / service.
  • Identify where training is needed and make recommendations for implementation.

Product Issue Reporting and Feedback

  • Manage partner and customer feedback and identify any recurring product issues. Report findings to quality and engineering teams for continuous improvement, Coordinate voice-of-customer visits to gather insights and feedback on product performance and customer satisfaction
  • Drive success by facilitating cross-functional collaboration within the commercial team

Event & Trade Organization Participation

  • Actively participate and represent Canature WaterGroup in local ASHRAE / ASPE chapters
  • Represent Canature WaterGroup at trade shows and industry events, showcasing our products and engaging market leaders

Communication

  • Serve as the primary point of communication between the Company and partners, effectively conveying new policies, product updates and strategic changes to ensure consistent understanding and implementation across the territory.

 

 

 

About you:

  • Demonstrated ability in technical sales, construction acumen and the engineering specification process required
  • Degree in Engineering, business administration or related field or combination of education and experience may be accepted.
  • 3-5 years experience in account management
  • Demonstrated business development skills along with a positive and professional attitude
  • Superior customer service skills with a keen focus on quality
  • Strong presentation and public speaking skills
  • Superior computer skills with the ability to learn new systems
  • Excellent planning, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Superior interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment managing multiple accounts while meeting deadlines
  • Self-motivated, resourceful and able to work effectively independently as well as part of a team
  • Ability to travel (often up to 60%)
  • Knowledge in the water treatment industry an asset
  • Experience with CRM software an asset
  • Valid driver’s license required
