The Canby Police Department is accepting applications for full-time Police Officer. The Police Officer protects the citizens through crime prevention and detection by patrolling and builds relationships with the community through positive interaction.
Canby (Population1700) is located in western MN and sits only a few miles from the South Dakota border. Canby offers access to excellent hunting and fishing opportunities, making it an excellent location for sportsman due to the proximity of South Dakota and many glacial lakes. The residents of Canby show strong support for their first responders and are welcomed into the community with open arms. The City of Canby believes strongly in community relations, which is apparent through the numerous events and activities that take place year-round.
The Canby Police Department runs all brand-new equipment including Axon 4 body cameras, Axon fleet 3 squad cameras, Panasonic tough books w/removable touch screen tablets, Glock model 45 W/Leopold delta point pro red dots, squad rifles with Surefire suppressors, and Pulsar thermal binoculars. Residency within city limits is not required, but officer’s living in town will have access to a take home squad during their scheduled shifts. The department has flexibility in shift scheduling, and officers will have the ability to work 8, 10, or 12-hour shifts.
Lateral transfers are encouraged to apply, with lateral entry to top wage possible.

Pay: $30.00 - $35.22 per hour
