The Retirement Plan Solutions Team is seeking an experienced individual dedicated to leading the activities associated with facilitating our advisors’ opportunities with the various individually-controlled product solutions available in the tax exempt marketplace.  Cetera is prioritizing how we enable our advisors to effectively help American workers with their employer sponsored retirement plans and accounts, and it is critical that we have expertise specific to the tax exempt marketplace.   This is a unique opportunity to serve an integral role on a team tasked with shaping the industry’s future, in alignment with Cetera’s Workplace & Retirement strategic vision in enabling greater retirement security for all American workers. We are currently seeking an experienced, curious, and practical Tax Exempt Retirement Solutions Product Manager to add to our team.

 

What you will do:

  • Overall Product Management of solutions available in the tax exempt marketplace
    • In-house expert to own end-to-end execution of individually controlled 403b/457 business
    • Partner with Due Diligence, Product Solutions, and other teams to identify and inventory the product set available across the individually controlled tax exempt marketplace and maintain appropriately within the firms’ approved products listing.
    • Determine and manage rules of engagement across the range of broker dealer and RIA options available via the approved annuity and custodial vendors
    • Responsible for creating and maintaining workflows and rules of engagement, including documentation and guides that point to the correct client agreements, so advisors are effectively enabled to work with employees in tax exempt organizations across the spectrum of fee based, solicitor based, and commission based opportunities
    • Proactively identify program gaps and bring forward thoughtful recommendations in collaboration with our internal teams for prioritization
    • Manage pipeline of enhancements and projects, and drive project work if necessary
    • Partner with data team(s) to build and maintain reporting, including success metrics to various stakeholders and leadership

 

  • Vendor and Partner Management:
    • Manage relationships with third-party program vendors, recordkeepers, investment product sponsors, TAMPs/TPMMs/TPAMs, and other partners
    • Responsible for accurate reporting from third-party program vendors, RK’s, and partners

 

  • Training and Education:
    • Ownership of the development and maintenance of advisor-facing materials (marketing material, FAQs, job aids, etc.)
    • Responsible for advisor conversations, including escalations, as well as day to day activities in support of this business line, in alignment with written documentation and FAQ’s
    • Serves as the team’s subject matter expert on participant level tax exempt product solutions, and acts as an internal point of education and escalation for sales, service and support teams

 

What you need to have:

  • Undergraduate degree from a four-year college or university
  • 5-7 years of experience in financial services industry
  • At least 3-5 years of experience and familiarity with investment options available in the tax exempt marketplace (both annuity and custodial solutions; sometimes known as vendor options or payroll slots).
  • Strong understanding of the rules of engagement for broker/dealers and RIA’s who have opportunities with tax exempt employees, including experience working directly with advisors in that marketplace
  • Securities licenses (Series 6, 7, 24, 63/65, 66) 

 

Compensation:

The base annual salary range for this role is $100,000 to $130,000, plus a competitive performance-based bonus.  Base annual salary depends on a wide array of factors, including but not limited to skill set, years and depth of experience, certifications, and location. Base annual salary may also differ significantly due to geography and cost of labor considerations.
