What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Accountant position at Candidate Experience site?
Cetera Financial Group is currently searching for a talented and passionate Senior Accountant to join our team. The Senior Accountant will report to an Accounting Manager and will be a key player in the accounting group. The position will be responsible for supporting various aspects of the monthly close including recording month end journal entries and variance analysis. The Senior Accountant will assist in implementing process improvements to help the team streamline and enhance efficiencies, promote the analysis and communication of results, and provide proactive customer service to business partners. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who collaborates well with team members.
What you will do:
- Participate in monthly closing process of the non-broker dealer operating, including preparation of assigned journal entries, to include investments, prepaids, accruals, expense allocations, eliminations, and recording cash.
- Prepare and review financial statements.
- Perform variance analysis for assigned accounts.
- Prepare and review monthly balance sheet account reconciliations and address any reconciling items in a timely manner.
- Develop and maintain detailed documentation of accounting procedures and processes.
- Prepare necessary documentation and schedules for the audit.
- Continuously work to enhance the internal control framework. Ensure timely execution of controls.
- Collaborate with the Financial Planning & Analysis team to provide accurate and timely financial data.
- Partner with various departments to gather and provide necessary financial information.
- Performing other accounting duties as required or assigned.
What you will have:
- BA/BS degree in Accounting or related fields with solid understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience.
- Experience in public accounting and financial services preferred.
- CPA license a plus, but not required.
Compensation:
The base annual salary for this role will be $70,000 - $100,000 plus a competitive incentive compensation program. Base annual salary depends on a wide array of factors, including but not limited to skill set, years and depth of experience, certifications, and location. Base annual salary may also differ significantly due to geography and cost of labor considerations.
