SUMMARY OF JOB
Responsible for maintaining plastic injection molding machines, plumbing structure within the facility and ensuring all production equipment runs smoothly. Responsible for conducting preventive maintenance and performing facility repairs. Accountable for parts inventory and the safety of the department. Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements and troubleshooting on motors, pneumatic equipment, conveyor systems, and production machines, following Electrical and Mechanic diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Performs required maintenance on injection molding machinery, auxiliary equipment, and plant facilities.
Disassemble injection molding machine and clean parts for repair.
Electrical work on grinders, operation of drill presses, saws, etc.
Assist with installation of molding machines.
Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
Expert mechanical skills.
Strong root cause analysis / problem solving abilities.
Self-Starter, ability to work with limited supervision.
Team Player, ability to work with cross–multi functional teams.
Perform maintenance for injection molding manufacturing equipment to assure uninterrupted & optimal operations
Working knowledge of Hydraulic, Pneumatic and Electrical systems.
Conduct regular maintenance and troubleshooting of injection molding machines
Ability to interpret technical & operational documents, including manuals, blueprints, schematics
Working knowledge of shop equipment; including drill presses, grinders, acetylene torch rigs and welding abilities.
Walk, kneel, bend, stand, and climb stairs. Use ladders and scaffolding.
Working knowledge of Low voltage circuitry and PLC controls a plus
Working knowledge of HVAC, systems a plus
Carpentry skills a plus
EXPERIENCE
Minimum three (3) plus years industrial maintenance experience required.
Electrical and hydraulic experience preferred.
Plastic injection molding experience required.
REQUIRED EDUCATION
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) or vocational training in maintenance mechanics or a technical trade certificate a plus.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Working knowledge of electricity both AC/DC voltages.
Advanced mechanical knowledge.
Ability to troubleshoot problems from electrical schematics.
Able to interpret hydraulic, pneumatic diagrams and correcting problems within these systems.
Computer literate with experience in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
Ability to obtain and maintain powered industrial equipment certification.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Lift and carry up to and above 40 pounds.
Use ladders and scaffolds.
Work at heights and in inclement weather.
Continuous standing, walking, stretching, reaching, bending, and stooping required.
