Job Summary:
This is a Full-time, Exempt Position reporting to the CSO of Alpha Safety. PSC is a leading provider of equipment and solutions for the location, identification, and characterization of radioactive materials.
PSC is currently seeking a self-directed candidate to perform Expert Data Analysis of assay data from gamma-based NDA systems; especially HPGe systems. Additional duties include: Responsibility for technically defensible decision making in support of customer programmatic objectives.

Essential Job Requirements
As an NDA Analyst for PSC at the SLDA site your responsibilities will include:
Perform initial calibrations, qualifications and certifications for NDA instruments
Provide expert technical data analysis services.
Provide consultation on NDA matters to various facility departments and organizations such as nuclear safety, safeguards, nuclear materials control and accountability, waste characterization, waste disposal and operations
Provide subject matter expertise to client
Provide regulatory audit defense support for customer program.
Remain knowledgeable of current and developing technologies appropriate to current job activities.
Develop models using the MCNP code or other software for radiation detection and measurement
Interface with software to implement and debug algorithms and data acquisition systems developed for PSC systems.
Write and review system technical basis documents and system measurement test plans.
Apply mathematical methods to analyze and solve physical problems.
Provide mentoring to other job categories.
Perform other duties as assigned and/or required.
Position Profile:
Required Experience:
Degree and five years NDA experience; or ten equivalent years of experience in the NDA field.
Expertise in a wide range of NDA techniques and their application
Required Education:
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Undergraduate degree in Physical Science or Engineering
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge areas should cover many of the following fields: physics, chemistry, statistics, electronics, engineering, and nuclear safety.
Effective technical problem solving techniques
Computer literacy skills are required to include a working knowledge of MS Office software.
Excellent ability with a programming language and spreadsheet software
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Qualified in accordance with ASTM C-1490-04 “Standard Guide for the Selection, Training and Qualification of Nondestructive Assay NDA Personnel,” specifically section 4.2.2
Familiarity with data acquisition and analysis software packages related to gamma assay. E.g. Maestro, GammaVision, ISOCS, SNAP, ISOTOPIC, PC FRAM, etc
Ability to work with minimal supervision, to begin projects independently (or as assigned), and to bring projects (or assignments) to satisfactory conclusion on a timely basis.
