POSITION SUMMARY:
The Cleveland Cavaliers are seeking a 'Director, Client Engagement and Experience' to lead the strategy and execution of events for our revenue clientele: Corporate Partners, Premium Clients, Members of Cavs United, Groups, Youth Sports, and team members. This role will focus on delivering innovative and impactful experiences that strengthen brand affinity and drive organizational growth.
The ideal candidate will bring a collaborative, hands-on approach to event strategy, leadership, and execution. This individual will have a passion for creating world-class event experiences while ensuring alignment with the Cavaliers’ broader organizational goals.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
General Marketing & Leadership -
Develop and execute a comprehensive experiential marketing strategy that enhances the Cavaliers’ brand.
Align event initiatives with business objectives to maximize fan engagement, ticket sales, and partnership opportunities.
Lead enterprise-wide event cohesion, ensuring consistency and scalability of experiential activities.
Oversee the planning and execution of marquee events, including hospitality receptions, VIP activations, and contractual events.
Understand key audiences to create unique, tailored event experiences for fans, partners, and team members.
Provide leadership and direction to the Client Engagement and Experience team, ensuring high performance and professional development.
Event Management -
Oversee all aspects of event operations, including project plans, budgets, logistics, attendee experience design, registration, and post-event reporting.
Lead collaborative cross-functional teams to conceptualize and execute innovative event strategies, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
Partner with stakeholders, including corporate partnerships, ticketing, and marketing teams, to design and deliver events that drive revenue and engagement.
Manage vendor relationships and oversee logistics such as audiovisual production, venue selection, and event branding.
Post-Event Analysis & Reporting -
Create executive-level reports and presentations on event impact and outcomes, highlighting measurable business results.
Collaborate with key stakeholders to evaluate event successes, identify areas for improvement, and develop actionable recommendations for future events.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Marketing, Business, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience leading large-scale events, including corporate events, galas, summits, and virtual engagements.
Must have availability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and occasional Holidays as required by event schedule.
Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) designation is a plus.
Proven ability to develop and implement event strategies that align with organizational goals and drive measurable outcomes.
Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop high-performing teams.
Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Proficiency in CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce), event management platforms, and project management tools (e.g., Monday).
