Job Summary:
The Front Desk Agent is responsible for creating a welcoming atmosphere for guests and ensuring smooth, efficient, and courteous check-in and check-out processes. This role involves handling guest reservations, providing information about hotel services and amenities, and addressing guest concerns or special requests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Guest Reception:
- Greet and welcome guests in a friendly and professional manner.
- Assist with the check-in and check-out processes, ensuring a smooth and efficient experience.
- Provide guests with information regarding hotel amenities, local attractions, and services.
- Reservation Management:
- Handle reservations, including phone, email, and online bookings.
- Update guest reservations, ensuring accuracy and availability.
- Process cancellations, changes to bookings, and special requests as needed.
- Customer Service:
- Address guest inquiries, complaints, or requests promptly and professionally, resolving issues to the guest's satisfaction.
- Provide assistance with luggage, transportation, or other guest needs.
- Payment and Billing:
- Process payments for room charges, deposits, and other services.
- Ensure accurate billing and manage cash or credit card transactions.
- Administrative Support:
- Answer phone calls, emails, and other forms of communication related to guest inquiries.
- Maintain an organized front desk area, ensuring all paperwork and files are up-to-date.
- Assist with creating and updating guest records in the hotel management system.
- Safety and Security:
- Ensure the safety and security of guests by monitoring security procedures and reporting any issues to the appropriate staff.
- Assist with emergency procedures as needed.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with other hotel departments (e.g., housekeeping, maintenance) to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Communicate guest preferences or special requests to the relevant teams.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (a college degree is a plus).
- Previous experience in customer service, hospitality, or a similar role is preferred.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact with guests from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to multitask and handle stressful situations in a calm and efficient manner.
- Basic computer skills, including knowledge of hotel management software and reservations systems.
- Knowledge of the local area and available services is a plus.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 per hour
