Job Summary:
The Assistant General Manager (AGM) plays a vital role in supporting the General Manager in all aspects of hotel operations at Candlewood Suites. This position ensures the highest standards of guest satisfaction, team leadership, financial performance, and operational efficiency. The AGM acts as a key leader, stepping in as the acting General Manager when necessary, and upholding the Candlewood Suites brand promise of delivering a welcoming, extended-stay experience for guests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Support:
- Assist in overseeing daily hotel operations, ensuring departments such as front desk, housekeeping, maintenance, and guest services run smoothly and efficiently.
- Guest Experience:
Monitor and maintain service quality and guest satisfaction. Address guest issues or concerns promptly and professionally to uphold brand standards.
- Staff Management:
Support hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management of team members. Motivate staff to provide exceptional service and maintain a positive work culture. Assist in managing budgets, forecasting, cost control, and financial reporting. Monitor revenue streams, expenses, and profitability. Ensure compliance with hotel policies, local/state/federal laws, and IHG brand standards. Promote safety, cleanliness, and security throughout the property. Represent the Candlewood Suites brand with integrity and professionalism, ensuring that the property reflects IHG’s values and service standards.

- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in hotel management or supervisory roles, preferably in extended stay or select-service hotels.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Working knowledge of hotel property management systems (PMS), preferably Opera or similar.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; a degree in hospitality management or related field is preferred.
