The Shipping Coordinator will be responsible for routing truckload (LTL/FTL) shipments, processing high volumes of parcel shipments, and ensuring compliance with customer-specific requirements. The role also focuses on continuous improvement, recordkeeping, executing system-related transactions, assembling outbound orders, maintaining general housekeeping, and preparing basic operational reports.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities

- Route and schedule LTL/FTL shipments to ensure on-time delivery and optimal cost efficiency
- Process and manage large volumes of parcel shipments via FedEx, UPS, and other carriers
- Adherent to customer-specific shipping and packaging requirements and routing guidelines
- Continuously identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy
- Assemble and prepare outbound orders for shipment, ensuring accuracy and proper labeling
- Maintain accurate shipping records, including carrier documentation and invoices
- Monitor and resolve shipping issues or delays in coordination with the warehouse and customer service teams
- Accurately enter shipment information into the ERP system to generate packing lists, shipping labels, invoices, and other documents
- Conduct system-related transactions to maintain inventory integrity and shipment tracking
- Prepare and maintain operational reports, including shipment volumes, on-time delivery metrics, and cost analyses
- Communicate effectively with transportation companies, internal teams, and customers to resolve shipping issues
- Perform regular housekeeping tasks, including dusting, sweeping, mopping, and decluttering work areas
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and organizational policies
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- 18 years or older
- Completion of High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in logistics, shipping, or a related field
- Experience with LTL/FTL and parcel shipping procedures
- Familiarity with customer-specific shipping requirements
- Proficiency in ERP systems; experience with SAP is preferred
- Forklift certification (or ability to obtain and maintain)
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of FedEx, UPS, and freight carrier platforms
- Ability to learn new systems and tools quickly and proficiently
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic reporting tools
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in shipping documentation
- Positive attitude with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
