Assistant Production Manager

Canlak Coatings facility located in Osseo, MN, an ISO Certified leading regional manufacturer and distributor of paints and coatings serving the upper Midwest for 50 years, is growing and is looking for an Assistant Production Manager. About the Job

The Assistant Production Manager, under the direction of the Production Manager, will have responsibility for supervision of all employees assigned to the Contract Filling Department. This position directs and coordinates the filling of products in accordance with delivery, safety, and quality.

Duties and Responsibilities include:

• Responsible for Supervising the Filling production employees to ensure all products are filled efficiently, safely and with high quality to meet delivery to customers

• Promotes and ensures employees of safe operating methods and maintains a clean work environment (6S program)

• Provides training and coaching for employees

• Reads and complies to batch tickets, weight sheets, and production work instructions

• Ensures required documents are completed accurately and in a timely manner for batch yields, weights, and performance metrics

• Tracks and communicates key production filling rates, manufacturing efficiencies, and

performance to production schedules

• Partners with other departments; Scheduling, Shipping, Maintenance

• Support managing inventory with the use of Barcoding, Kanban, and cycle counting

programs

• Participate and supports our Safety, Quality System, ISO requirements

Qualifications/ Skills:

• High School Diploma

• Supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment

• Ability to Problem solve, prioritize work, and manage multiple tasks when needed

• Good attention to detail

• Forklift Experience preferred

• Must possess strong initiative, and excellent communication, leadership and organization

skills.

• “Can do” attitude suited to a fast paced team/matrix atmosphere.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour
