Cannabis Dispensary on the South Shore is seeking an experienced Manager to join our recreational dispensary team in Abington, Massachusetts. The ideal candidate knows how to motivate team members, solve problems quickly and effectively, and can multitask in a fast-paced environment. Managers will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our dispensary and will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, providing exceptional customer service, and increasing sales. Experience with P&L and QuickBooks is a plus.
Managers will work closely with leadership team to define key performance indicators (KPIs), generate standard operating procedures (SOPs), and oversee business progress. Managers must have cross-training and have experience with POS systems, inventory procedures including METRC, and front of house procedures.
Prior management experience as well as cannabis industry experience is required. **PLEASE DO NOT APPLY IF YOU DO NOT HAVE THE REQUIRED MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE**
Responsibilities:
- Assist in implementing all operational rules, regulations, policies, and procedures to advance the company’s mission, vision, goals, and objectives;
- Lead all levels of the retail dispensary by upholding all company policies, procedures, and security protocols;
- Implement standard operating procedures for dispensary functions including inventory, customer check-in, security, and daily opening and closing duties;
- Work with ownership to develop short-term and long-term strategies for business growth and development, including specials, promotions, and rewards programs;
- Monitor overall retail sales and create effective solutions to increase sales by implementation of compliant promotions, discounts, and customer benefits;
- Oversee sales floor for a variety of factors including but not limited to staffing needs, quality of service, inventory changes, atmosphere, and security;
- Supervise and direct the activities of all assigned staff and make recommendations regarding hiring, disciplining, terminating, scheduling, and advancing of employees;
- Monitor all transactions and cash within the retail store, including preparing bank deposits, counting drawers and safes, making change for registers, requesting coinage for vault, and performing record keeping duties related to all cash;
- Assist with staffing needs and coordinate employee scheduling and required training programs;
- Work closely with inventory management to procure products and develop relationships with wholesalers to maintain optimal inventory at all times;
- Oversee investigations into any inventory discrepancies or compliance violations;
- Manage inventory control by use of METRC and POS systems, perform all receiving, transferring, reporting, reconciling and inventory management functions within METRC daily;
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of all strains and products in store inventory as well as industrywide product and trend knowledge;
- All other job duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- High School diploma or the equivalent required
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Retail management experience required
- Prior cannabis industry experience required
- Strong leadership skills and organizational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Exemplary time management skills
- Minimum 21 years of age
- Must possess valid driver’s license or state ID
- Must pass all required background checks
- Must complete the required training programs and state agent registration.
Experience:
- Retail Management: 3-5 years (REQUIRED)
- Cannabis Industry: 2-4 years (required)
- Computer skills to include MS Word, MS Excel, and similar programs (required)
- Experience with POS systems and METRC (required)
