Security Specialist - Cannabis Dispensary

Job Title: Security Specialist

Pay Rate: $18-20 per hour

Job Class: Hourly, Non-Exempt

Location: Marshfield, MA (on-site)

Job Summary: The Security Specialist will be responsible for carrying out all security operations at our recreational cannabis dispensary in Massachusetts. This individual will ensure the safety and security of all staff, customers, and assets, ensuring compliance with state regulations and company policies. The ideal candidate will possess experience in security management, a strong understanding of compliance, and a commitment to ensuring a safe environment for both customers and staff. This role reports to the Dispensary Manager.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Security Operations:

• Maintain the Daily Security Log
• Controlling, maintaining, and tracking all access for authorized staff, vendors, and permitted visitors as well as maintaining access control for all doors, locks and keys for the facility.
• Maintain surveillance camera system and review recorded camera footage as needed
• Respond to any security incidents, emergencies, or alarms, ensuring proper procedures are followed and incidents are documented.
• Observes and report losses and damage by reporting irregularities, informing violators of policy and procedures.
• Provide high level of customer service and assistance to customers and visitors in a courteous and professional manner
• Secure premises and personnel by conducting facility walkthroughs of the property; monitoring surveillance equipment; inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points; monitoring, reporting and adjusting lighting as required during off hour
• Adhere to schedule and shift times by arriving on time and prepared for shift.

Compliance & Protocols:

• Adhere to all state and local regulations by following company policies & procedures for daily security operations
• Maintains confidentiality with regard to information, proprietary and other internal matters at all times
• Complete Variance Investigations as needed
• Conduct routine audits of the facility and report any observations in a timely manner
• Participate in team meetings and training sessions

Facilities Maintenance:

• Secure premises and personnel by conducting facility walkthroughs of the property daily
• Monitoring surveillance equipment
• Inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points
• Monitoring, reporting and adjusting lighting as required during off hours
• Help ensure the parking lot and exterior lots are clean and free from debris and damages, reporting any findings directly to the Dispensary Manager

Customer & Staff Safety:

• Handle any conflicts or disturbances calmly and professionally, ensuring minimal disruption to operations
• Ensure building is secured and locked at end of each business day
• All other duties as assigned

Team Collaboration:

• Work collaboratively with other team members to create a positive and efficient work environment.
• Participate in team meetings and training sessions
• All other duties as assigned.

• Ability to plan and manage operations for maximum efficiency & productivity
• Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy
• Ability to work well with others and independently
• Must be able to move up to 30 lbs
• Ability to remain stationary for long periods of time
• Ability to handle repetitive motions for extended periods of time
• Ability to manage stressful situations and maintain their own composure throughout
• Must maintain ethical conduct at all times
• Ability to work in various environments including but not limited to adverse outdoor conditions such as cold, rain, heat.

Qualifications:

• 1 years of retail security experience preferred
• Must possess a valid state issued driver's license or government issued ID
• Must be 21 years of age or older per the Cannabis Control Commission regulations
• Ability to pass a background check per the Cannabis Control Commission regulations
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule that includes evenings, weekends and holidays
• Must have reliable transportation
