Budtender - Cannabis Dispensary

Job Title: Budtender

Starting Pay Rate: $17-$18 per hour

Job Class: Hourly, Non-Exempt

Location: Marshfield, MA

Job Summary: The Budtender works hard to drive daily dispensary operations and customer service during our busy season. Budtenders are expected to have knowledge of all cannabis products and accessories sold in the retail environment and work to educate consumers on new products and accessories added to the menu. Budtenders have a clear understanding of all policies, procedures and state regulations for dispensing cannabis products, and are eager to work with the public. This position reports to the Dispensary Manager.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Customer Service

• Greet and assist customers in accordance with company policy and training.
• Provide personalized recommendations based on customer preferences and needs.
• Performing greeter/reception duties as needed which include, verifying IDs and queueing customers.
• Adhere to schedule and assigned shift times.

Compliance

• Adhere to all state and local regulations regarding the sale of cannabis.
• Ensure all transactions are conducted in compliance with Massachusetts cannabis laws.
• Accurately process sales transactions using the dispensary’s point-of-sale system by reviewing each transaction prior to completing the sale.
• Accurately handle cash. Maintain customer privacy and confidentiality.
• Picking and Packaging sales orders, in-store and pre-orders, compliantly for exit.

Sales

• Assist customers in selecting products and completing purchases.
• Upsell and cross-sell products to enhance the customer experience.
• Provide detailed and accurate information about cannabis products, strains, effects and safe consumption methods and dosages, helping customers make informed decisions.
• Maintain an in-depth understanding of our product offerings, including strains, concentrates, edibles, and accessories.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and new products.

Inventory Management

• Assist with conducting inventory counts as needed, and stocking accessories as needed.

Store Maintenance

• Ensure the dispensary is clean, organized, and visually appealing. Assist with general housekeeping duties as needed.

Team Collaboration:

• Work collaboratively with other team members to create a positive and efficient work environment.
• Participate in team meetings and training sessions.
• All other duties as assigned.

Other Requirements:

• Ability to communicate information and ideas professionally so others clearly understand
• Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy.
• Passion for continued education within the cannabis market
• Ability to work well with others and independently
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with point-of-sale systems.
• Must be able to move up to 30 lbs.
• Ability to remain stationary for long periods of time
• Ability to handle repetitive motions for extended periods of time
• Must be able to position self to reach stock shelves and move items
• Familiarity with METRC seed-to-sale software is a plus
• Experience with the use of Dutchie is a plus
• Familiarity with Massachusetts Adult-Use Cannabis policies and regulations

Qualifications:

• 1 years of retail sales experience preferred
• Must possess a valid state issued driver's license or government issued ID
• Must be 21 years of age or older per the Cannabis Control Commission regulations
• Ability to pass a background check per the Cannabis Control Commission regulations
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule that includes evenings, weekends and holidays
• Must have reliable transportation
