This role is crucial in maintaining a secure and compliant environment by monitoring the premises, verifying identification, and enforcing company policies and state regulations. The ideal candidate is observant, customer-service oriented, and able to handle security-related incidents professionally and efficiently.
Main Duties/Responsibilities:
- Monitor entry and exit points to ensure only authorized individuals access the dispensary.
- Verify customer identification and ensure all patrons meet New York State legal requirements for cannabis purchases.
- Respond promptly and professionally to security incidents, disturbances, or emergencies.
- Collaborate with dispensary staff to de-escalate conflicts and ensure a safe environment.
- Assist with loss prevention efforts, including monitoring surveillance systems and deterring theft.
- Report suspicious activity or breaches in security to management and law enforcement if necessary.
- Maintain a professional and welcoming presence while enforcing dispensary policies.
- Assist with emergency response procedures, including fire safety and evacuation protocols.
Minimum Requirements
- Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field
- At least 1 year of experience in the Cannabis industry

- Minimum 21 years of age
- Legally authorized to work in New York
- Strong customer service, observational and conflict-resolution skills
