What are the responsibilities and job description for the Trauma-Informed Bilingual Counselor position at Cannenta Center for Healing and Empowerment?
Cannenta Center is a mental health organization providing mental health services to the Hispanic community. We strive to break the language and cultural barriers to mental wellness while eliminating stigmas. Cannenta Center is a community leader in providing training and education on issues surrounding best practices in working with the Hispanic community.
The Bilingual Therapist will provide individual and family sessions at our Oak Cliff or Addison office. This position is responsible for assessment and evaluation to aid and determine treatment goals, as well as providing crisis intervention and long-term counseling.
The Bilingual Therapist will work as a member of a dynamic team. In addition to clinical duties, Cannenta therapists facilitate speaking engagements in the community and assist in agency events and fundraisers for our sister nonprofit, Cannenta Foundation.
Skills / Requirements:
Master’s Degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology or related field is required
Bilingual (English/Spanish) required
Licensed in the related field by State of Texas (LCSW, LPC, or LMFT)
Experience with Play Therapy, Attachment, EMDR, CPT, TF-CBT, and other trauma-informed therapies is preferred.
High energy levels, self-motivated, results-oriented, and excellent people and communication skills
Ability to work independently
Ability to be innovative and have out-of-the-box ideas
