Job Purpose
The Security Manager is a key leadership position managing third-party service providers and supporting day-to-day security programs that are consistent with operational goals, including facility and employee security. In addition, you will be responsible for a team of HSE Technicians leading emergency response operations, working with the local leadership team to drive the Canoo Safety and Security Mission, and taking the lead in accomplishing the Safety & Security goals and objectives.
Responsibilities (80s of the Position)
- Manage team of internal staff and third-party Security vendor regarding the Safety & Security staff in their performance of security operations.
- Ensure compliance with Safety & Security policies, identify anomalies, develop solutions and always maintain clear lines of communications to relevant parties.
- Ensure a proactive approach to accomplishing the safety and security of employees and assets.
- Maintain situational awareness of natural and man-made events that could potentially compromise the safety and security of personnel, business operations and the critical infrastructure.
- Promote and lead implementation of the employee security programs
- Ensure proper utilization and execution of contract security programs.
- Participate and support local emergency action plans.
- Maintain and improve the Canoo Emergency Response plan to include deep shelter, evacuation, medical response, injury response and other situations as deemed necessary.
- Provide budgetary inputs and assist the Head of Global Safety and Security in the efficient management of allocated site budget.
Required Experience
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, employees may be required to sit for prolonged periods of time, occasionally bending or stooping, lifting up to 10 pounds, and prolonged periods of computer use. Long walks to assess and audit facilities are required. On site presence at our offices is mandatory for this position.
