Paralegal Specialists (Levels I-V)
Responsibilities:
o Support claims review and analysis, focusing on identifying legal and factual issues for cases involving fatal heart attacks, strokes, vascular ruptures, or other medical conditions.
o Work closely with the Director and Benefits Specialists during the claims process to review evidence and identify issues.
o Track and report data and metrics, including appeals at the Hearing Officer and Director levels.
o Ensure timely processing of new claims by noting issues in the Portal and discussing cases with the Director within three days of receipt.
Qualifications:
o Level I: Paralegal Certificate or bachelor’s degree (legal emphasis preferred) 1 year of paralegal experience.
o Level II: Paralegal Certificate or bachelor’s degree 2 years of paralegal experience.
o Level III: Paralegal Certificate or bachelor’s degree 3 years of paralegal experience.
o Level IV: Paralegal Certificate or bachelor’s degree 6 years of paralegal experience, including 3 years of claims-specific work.
o Level V: Paralegal Certificate or bachelor’s degree 8 years of paralegal experience, including 5 years of claims-specific work.
