About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Estimator to join our team at Cantera Concrete Company. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for preparing and submitting quotes on projects assigned to ensure safe, quality, and profitable project completion in a timely manner.
Main Responsibilities
- Promote a culture of safety and communicate effectively with safety professionals to ensure a safe working environment.
- Identify and quantify construction elements, participate in job turnover processes, and develop client relationships for current and future projects.
- Monitor costs, including labor and materials, and participate in bid reviews as necessary.
- Assess risk possibilities associated with projects, prepare proposals, and acquire bid bonds.
- Prepare job cost budgets, solicit vendor quotes, and assist project managers with pricing change orders.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Broad understanding of the concrete construction industry and knowledge of Microsoft programs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to function effectively as part of a team, and strong decision-making/problem-solving skills.
- Ability to engage in various tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently with strong mathematical skills and attention to detail.
- Four years of construction experience and two years of concrete experience required.
- OSHA 10 certification, CPR certification, and First Aid certification preferred.
