Assist teaching staff in the instruction, direct supervision and behavioral management (in the classroom and other areas as required) of an individual student. The essential duties of the position include, but are not limited to: 1. Understand the goals and objectives outlined in the assigned student’s Individual Education Plan (IEP). 2. Implement lesson plans as designed by the teacher; support in the delivery of instruction for the assigned student. 3. Systematically record and graph data specific to an assigned student regarding overall instructional progress, achievement of IEP goals, behavioral incidents, baseline behavior and other information as required. 4. Communicate measurable learning objectives and guide assigned student toward mastery of goals. 5. Utilize instructional techniques and appropriate instructional material as prescribed by the classroom teacher. 6. Communicate to the student about IEP goals regularly; correct student errors in a positive and timely manner. 7. Assist in tracking and the completion of homework and course work. 8. Complete One-to-One Aide logs on a daily basis. Submit accurate and complete weekly logs on time. 9. Implement interventions as prescribed in the treatment plan. 10. Maintain student supervision at all times including transition, P.E. and transportation periods. 11. Proper implementation of Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI) techniques, as needed.
