Middle School Mathematics Instructor
Canterbury School of Florida is seeking an experienced and dedicated Middle School Mathematics Instructor to teach multiple levels of middle school math curriculum, primarily Pre-Algebra and Algebra I. This candidate will also implement LEADS (Canterbury’s character education program) through advisory and will be expected to perform various duties that support the Knowlton Campus (Grades 5 through 12). In addition, this teacher will have a commitment to the School’s mission and an interest in community involvement through participation in school-wide committees and activities.
Skills and Abilities
- Develop and implement a challenging and engaging curriculum for middle school mathematics.
- Utilize a variety of instructional methods and resources to meet the needs of diverse learners, including inquiry-based learning.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and discovery.
- Assess student learning through a variety of methods and provide timely and constructive feedback.
- Collaborate with colleagues to integrate math concepts across disciplines and grade levels.
- Communicate regularly with parents about student progress and classroom activities.
- Participate in departmental meetings, professional development, and school-wide events as required.
- Proficient in educational technology.
Educational and Other Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mathematics (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 2 years teaching experience in middle school mathematics.
- Demonstrated knowledge of best practices in mathematics education.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Commitment to professional growth and development.
- Successful completion of pre-employment background screening, drug testing, and safety training required.
