DPW Worker

Job Summary
The Department of Public Works (DPW) is seeking dedicated and skilled individuals to join our team as DPW Workers. This role is essential in maintaining public spaces and ensuring the safety and aesthetics of our community. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, mechanical knowledge, and a passion for outdoor work. Responsibilities will include operating various hand and power tools, performing landscaping tasks, and contributing to seasonal maintenance activities.

Responsibilities

• Operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively for various maintenance tasks.
• Perform snow plowing during winter months to ensure safe road conditions.
• Engage in mowing, lawn care, and landscape maintenance to enhance the appearance of public areas.
• Assist with tree care, including pruning and removal as needed.
• Build and maintain garden areas, ensuring proper planting and upkeep.
• Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently while adhering to safety protocols.
• Conduct routine inspections of equipment and report any mechanical issues promptly.

Experience

• Previous experience in landscaping, lawn care, or related fields is preferred but not required.
• Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and mechanical equipment is highly desirable.
• Experience in snow removal or winter maintenance activities is a plus.
• A strong understanding of horticulture principles or landscape design can be beneficial.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions while maintaining a positive attitude.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.56 - $24.76 per hour

• 8 hour shift
