Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to veterinarians in the care and treatment of animals. You will be responsible for a variety of tasks that ensure the health and well-being of our patients, while also assisting in the smooth operation of our veterinary practice.
Duties
- Perform routine examinations and assessments of animals to monitor their health status.
- Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and other medical procedures.
- Administer medications, vaccinations, and treatments as prescribed by the veterinarian.
- Conduct laboratory tests, including blood work and urinalysis.
- Utilize animal restraint techniques to ensure the safety of both the animals and staff during procedures.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for each patient.
- Provide care for hospitalized animals, including feeding, grooming, and monitoring their recovery.
- Educate pet owners on proper animal care, nutrition, and preventive health measures.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of the clinic, including kennels and examination rooms.
Skills
The ideal candidate will possess a combination of technical skills and personal attributes that contribute to excellent patient care. Required or preferred skills include:
- Proficiency in animal restraint techniques to safely handle various species.
- Strong background in animal care and husbandry practices.
- Experience with X-Ray procedures and interpretation.
- Knowledge of animal catheterization techniques.
- Familiarity with aseptic techniques to maintain sterile environments during procedures.
- Laboratory skills for conducting tests and analyzing results.
- Previous experience as a Veterinary Technician or in a similar role is highly desirable.
- Competence in animal handling to ensure comfort and safety for both staff and patients.
- Ability to maintain a clean and organized kennel environment.

Pay: $15.82 - $16.44 per hour
