Duties :
Canvas desires a talented Facilities Analyst to join our team! In this role, you will get to perform facilities planning, design, and construction assignments, applying your facilities acquisition experience and analysis skills.
What You'll Be Doing :
- Assist the Government Project Manager to plan, program, design, execute, and document Military Construction (MILCON) and sustainment, restoration, and modernization (SRM) projects.
- Interact with and coordinate facilities design and construction tasks with the government customer, host installations, A&E firms, and executing agencies.
- Independently develop and / or supervise the creation of facilities acquisition products that meet customer quality requirements. This includes defining the problem, establishing the work scope, preparing the budget and schedule, planning the work, providing technical direction, and reporting the work status. Typical products may include detailed calculations, drawings, procurement documents, design and installation packages, proposal evaluations, technical reports, and detailed analyses.
- Participate in project planning and design scoping sessions, charrettes, and reviews.
- Provide support in project execution status reviews via status meetings and schedule reviews.
- Provide support for other technical activities as required.
- Provide input and technical guidance to CAD designer / drafters, designers, and lower-level team members working on the same project.
- Provide construction surveillance.
- Prepare project briefings in Microsoft PowerPoint and information papers in Microsoft Word.
- Draft, review, and contribute to technical reports and documentation.
Requirements
BA / BS degree with 13 years of relevant experience.
MA / MS in any field may be substituted for 3 years of relevant experience.
Desired Qualifications
Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or other STEM field.
Specialized knowledge of design, analysis, and review of complex structural systems designed to withstand weapons effects and unique environmental effects such as seismic or wind loading effects.
Working knowledge of USACE / NAVFAC / DPW construction project execution, construction documents, shop drawings, RFIs, and submittal reviews.
Familiar with Unified Facilities Criteria (i.e. UFC 3-301-01, UFC 3-301-02), and Unified Facilities Guide Specifications (UFGS).
Security Clearance : Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance .
