Reporting to the Business Unit Manager (BUM), and dedicated to a business unit team, the Sales Manager is a highly-visible, developmental role responsible for the oversight and management of the customer. The Sales Manager works in collaboration with New Sales Coordinators and the BUM to oversee customer accounts to ensure contractual compliance while safeguarding Canyon’s profitability and operational efficiency. The Sales Manager is heavily involved in the day-to-day operations of the business unit through all aspects of the business and critical to support pricing and new business activity. They act as a key liaison between the customer and the team. The scope of this position includes developing and maintaining customer relationships, regular sales and booking analysis, supporting the BUM in establishing the yearly business plan, overseeing activities to ensure customer service and price objectives are met, contract negotiation and other business-related activities.
Key Responsibilities:
· Drive sales growth by actively managing customer accounts, identifying new business opportunities, and ensuring timely order fulfillment.
· Act as the primary escalation point for customers, resolving complex issues, addressing urgent concerns, and ensuring overall satisfaction.
· Lead and manage the customer service team to ensure efficient order processing, on-time delivery, and responsive communication with clients.
· Work closely with engineering and operations teams to address technical requirements, production schedules, and customer needs.
· Support contract negotiations, pricing, and terms in alignment with company profitability and customer expectations.
· Track and report on sales performance, order trends, and key customer metrics to ensure alignment with business objectives.
· Perform detailed quantitative analysis of sales and bookings data and prepare regular (monthly, quarterly, and annual) reports and forecasts on current and future performance of the product line for management
· Monitor competitor activity, market trends, and customer feedback to adjust tactical sales approaches as needed.
· Coordinate with internal teams to ensure accurate demand forecasting and inventory planning.
· Attend industry events, trade shows, and customer meetings to strengthen relationships and identify new business opportunities.
· Serve as the backup for the Business Unit Manager when they are traveling, ensuring continuity in leadership, decision-making, and operational oversight.

· Regular and reliable attendance, consistent physical presence is required to effectively perform the job duties necessary for the role, such as availability for customer interactions or team collaboration.
· Employees must be physically be onsite to perform the majority of the essential job functions
· Proficient command of English operational and legal language – written and oral.
· Computer literate including MS office, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software.
· Experience in aerospace products / technologies.
Key Measures and Milestones:
· Achieve above plan bookings and sales targets for the Business Unit
· Improve customer satisfaction as measured by the customer scorecard
· Improve customer service responsiveness as measured by the customer scorecard
· Quarterly bookings forecast accuracy

Education and Experience:
· Bachelor degree or higher from an accredited university or college.
- 3 years of sales experience in the aerospace and defense industry.
Physical Demands:
· Tasks involve light physical effort in sedentary to light work; may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects or materials (5 – 10 lbs.).
· Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or workstation.
· Travel up to 20%.
