Canyon School is seeking a collaborative, creative, and competent teacher for two of our multi-grade classrooms in our TK-8 school. Individuals with experience and enthusiasm for project based learning, STEAM (especially Math), outdoor-ed, social-emotional learning/restorative justice and drama/theater are encouraged to apply. We are seeking two teachers: one each for our 3-4-5 multi-age classroom and for our 6-7-8 multi-age classroom for the 24-25 school year. Canyon School is nestled in a Redwood grove with a creek that runs through the middle of campus where Rainbow Trout spawn January - May. Ravens nest in the treetops, and clouds of ladybugs and butterflies are common at different times of the year. This unique setting forms the basis for a singular learning experience that emphasizes outdoor learning, arts integration, project based learning, and a strong community school culture. We are located minutes from the Montclair district of Oakland, and the Town of Moraga, Canyon is surrounded by East Bay Municipal Utility District watershed, and East Bay Regional Park District lands and is the community closest to the Contra Costa/Alameda county line. Canyon is a one school, school district (TK-8), that has been in existence since 1918. It is bolstered by a fiercely supportive community and is rich in tradition, culture and history.
