Job Summary:

The Branch Director is responsible for overseeing the daily operations, clinical services, financial performance, and regulatory compliance of the home health and hospice branch. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality patient care, drives business growth, and leads a multidisciplinary team to achieve operational excellence.


Key Responsibilities:


Leadership & Operations Management:
  • Provide strategic direction and leadership to the home health and hospice team.
  • Oversee daily branch operations, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in service delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with state, federal, and accreditation standards (e.g., Medicare, Medicaid, CHAP).
  • Implement policies, procedures, and best practices to enhance patient care and staff performance.
  • Maintain a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.


Clinical & Quality Assurance:
  • Ensure high-quality patient care in compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with clinical managers to oversee patient care, documentation, and care planning.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and audits to assess clinical outcomes and service quality.
  • Address patient and family concerns, ensuring satisfactory resolution and service excellence.


Business Development & Community Relations:
  • Develop and execute strategies to grow census and expand service offerings.
  • Foster relationships with referral sources, including hospitals, physicians, SNFs, and community organizations.
  • Represent the organization at networking events, conferences, and community outreach programs.
  • Partner with the sales and marketing teams to enhance visibility and referrals.


Financial & Budget Management:
  • Manage branch budget, including revenue, expenses, and profitability.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial reports to ensure financial health.
  • Optimize operational costs while maintaining service quality and regulatory compliance.
  • Ensure timely and accurate billing, reimbursement, and revenue cycle management.


Team Development & Human Resources:
  • Recruit, train, and retain top talent for clinical and administrative roles.
  • Foster a positive work environment, promoting employee engagement and professional growth.
  • Conduct regular team meetings and one-on-one sessions for performance feedback.
  • Address staffing needs, including scheduling, productivity, and workforce planning.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Business, or a related field.
  • Current RN license (preferred but not required) or relevant healthcare administration experience.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of leadership experience in home health and/or hospice.
  • Strong knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid regulations, OASIS, and hospice eligibility requirements.
  • Proven ability to drive census growth, manage budgets, and lead a multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in EMR systems, compliance documentation, and operational analytics.


Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
  • Office and field-based role with occasional travel for meetings and networking.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple priorities effectively.
  • May require occasional lifting of medical supplies and patient records.
