Job Description
The Construction Supervisor (CS) is a hands-on manager of various projects, working closely with and directly reporting back to the Project Manager (PM). The CS helps coordinate and develop all staff on the site including Cape Associates employees, subcontractors, and vendors. They inspect daily project progress and arrange for necessary materials and equipment to get the job done, ensuring the project stays within budget and on track with deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate daily tasks according to priorities and plans, making changes as needed due to weather, supply, delivery, and personnel.
- Delegate individual responsibilities and projects to crew members and contractors.
- Manage and mentor employees, subcontractors, and vendors, with the ability to manage multiple crews of 3-6 employees.
- Provide adequate resources to meet project schedules, laws, regulations, best practices, and safety needs.
- Emphasize safe use of tools, machinery, and equipment while providing training on safety gear, helmets, and procedures.
- Assist company leadership with project staffing projections, staff oversight, and staff development.
- Manage projects of any size sold by others and handed off.
- Nurture and develop relationships with clients, architects, and engineers, as well as continually expand your own professional network.
- Deliver the highest quality product achievable while maintaining strict adherence to budget parameters set forth by the client.
Requirements
- 7 years of prior experience.
- A valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Own a full set of tools.
- OSHA 10, OSHA 30, and Construction Supervisor License.
- Ability to lift 80 pounds.
- Strong leadership skills and ability to manage a team.
- Strong attention to detail and a strong commitment to high-quality work.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Capable of working long hours in harsh weather conditions.
- Good math and problem-solving skills.
