Job Summary:
The Kennel Attendant is responsible for the daily care and well-being of animals in a kennel or boarding facility. This position involves feeding, grooming, exercising, and maintaining a clean and safe environment for pets. The ideal candidate will have a love for animals, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clean and sanitize kennels, play areas, and other animal housing facilities.
- Monitor animal behavior and health, reporting any concerns to the kennel management.
- Exercise and socialize with animals to ensure their physical and mental well-being.
- Assist with grooming tasks such as bathing and brushing as needed.
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure the safety of animals and staff.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in animal care preferred.
- Previous experience working with animals in a kennel, shelter, or veterinary setting is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well with a team.
- Ability to lift and move animals weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
