GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Cape Cod Community College seeks an Associate Director of Wellness Promotion and Services to lead comprehensive wellness initiatives across all campuses. This key leadership role will drive the development, implementation, and evaluation of wellness programs to enhance the well-being of students, faculty, and staff. This position provides department leadership in the daily management of wellness education programs, facilities, and services, including the oversight of professional staff, student employees, contracted services, and department operations. The successful candidate must share in Cape Cod Community College's commitment to promoting well-being as a core institutional value. This position is year-round and requires frequent travel between campuses. Hours will be between 8:00 am- 4:30 pm with occasional evening work. This is an in-person position during academic terms (fall and spring semesters) with possibility of remote work outside of academic terms.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
- Oversee Wellness Promotion and Services team, educational activities, facilities, and services.
- Lead a team in developing and implementing physical, occupational, social, spiritual, academic, and environmental wellness promotion programs.
- Supervise wellness coordinators, coaches and workplace wellness specialists.
- Co-chair the Wellness Collaborative and participate in other campus-wide committees.
- Assist the Chief Wellness Officer with budgeting, hiring, and staff management.
- Develop campus-wide wellness campaigns and educational activities for heathy eating, peer education, and physical wellness with marketing and department staff.
- Collaborate with campus and community partners on wellness promotion and suicide prevention initiatives including a seat on the Cape and Islands Suicide Prevention Coalition Steering Committee.
- Assist with campus well-being assessment and data analysis for Okanagan Charter, Healthy Minds, and Mental Health wellness programs.
- Review and support institutional policies that address campus well-being and provide strong advocacy for a prevention perspective, principals, and values.
- Keep current relative to campus trends, scholarly literature, and best practices to inform and develop services, resources, and programming with an emphasis on prevention and wellness.
- Collaborate with other available student support services including mental health and basic needs programs.
- Deliver Mental Health First Aid and QPR trainings to faculty, staff and students.
- Oversee Peer Education Program including recruiting, facilitating with hiring, supervising and training all student peers.
- Any other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master's degree in Health Promotion, Public Health, Higher Education, or related field
- Five (5) years of experience in event planning and coordination of student programming
- Mental Health First Aid and Question Persuade and Refer (QPR) Trainer certifications.
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Understanding of equity, diversity, and inclusion in a community college setting.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Proven leadership skills and ability to motivate and be part of a team
- Ability to work amicably and tactfully with students, staff, and the public.
- Excellent time management skills and aptitude for proper task prioritization and a results-oriented work process.
- Certifications in suicide prevention, mental health, and workplace wellness

Additional Information:
COMPENSATION: Annual salary range of $85,000-$89,000, dependent upon qualifications. Full-time (12 months), benefited, Non-Unit Professional position including participation in a comprehensive employee benefits program and the option for membership in the Massachusetts State Employees' Retirement System.
