GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Circulation Desk Assistant is responsible for providing customer service and guidance to library patrons. This position works evening hours (Wednesday and Thursday, 3pm-8 pm).
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
- Register patrons in the CLAMS automated library system.
- Charge and discharge library materials to library patrons, including items on reserve.
- Assist patrons in the use of the photocopier and answer directional questions.
- Refer patrons to the Reference Desk.
- Produce College student ID cards.
- Shelve library materials.
- Other projects, such as searching for missing items, shifting, shelf reading, as assigned.
Job Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Customer service experience.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Thorough knowledge of basic computer applications.
- Ability to pay strict attention to detail.
ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with the CLAMS or Koha library systems.
- Experience working with diverse populations.

Additional Information:
COMPENSATION: $20 per hour, 10 hours per week when classes are in session. Part-time, non-benefited. Non-unit position.
