GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Cape Cod Community College's Center for Community and Professional Education (CCAPE) is seeking an experienced and engaging instructor to lead Crack the Code: Cybersecurity Meets the Deep Sea and Blue Economy, a one-week summer program introducing students entering grades 7-9 to the fundamentals of cybersecurity and ethical hacking. Hosted at Cape Cod Community College in West Barnstable, this program provides interactive, hands-on experiences designed to spark interest in cybersecurity careers and digital safety. Program dates: Monday - Friday, 8/4/25 - 8/8/25 from 9am-4pm.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
- Implement an engaging, hands-on curriculum focused on cybersecurity fundamentals, ethical hacking, online safety, and digital forensics.
- Deliver dynamic instruction and lead interactive learning experiences tailored for middle school students.
- Introduce students to cybersecurity principles, such as encryption, password security, network protection, and ethical hacking best practices.
- Facilitate real-world cybersecurity challenges, simulations, and problem-solving activities.
- Inspire career exploration by introducing students to potential educational pathways and job opportunities in cybersecurity and information security fields.
- Ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment, reinforcing ethical behavior and responsible digital citizenship.
- Collaborate with CCAPE staff and industry professionals to provide engaging guest lectures or demonstrations.
- Set up and break down instructional materials and ensure proper maintenance of any equipment or software before and after each session.
Job Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Prior experience in teaching, training, or instructional roles preferred, particularly in cybersecurity, computer science, or STEM education.
- Hands-on experience in cybersecurity, ethical hacking, or IT security; industry certifications such as CompTIA Security , Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), or CISSP preferred.
- Experience working with middle school students in an educational or mentoring capacity is strongly preferred.
- Strong classroom management, communication, and engagement skills to foster a supportive learning environment.
- Commitment to mentorship, workforce development, and promoting cybersecurity awareness.

Additional Information:
COMPENSATION: $65/hour for 35 hours of instruction, dependent upon qualifications, teaching experience, and field experience. An additional one-time stipend of $875 is available for curriculum development. Part-time project-based, non-benefited, non-unit position.
