GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Receptionist serves as a primary point of communication at the front desk of the Adult Education Center (AEC) in Hyannis. The Receptionist will assist in the effective operation of the front desk in a busy academic environment answering the phone and directing calls to the appropriate offices, greeting students, staff, and the public, and directing them to their destination. Additional responsibilities will include but not be limited to copying, preparing mailings, folders, test materials, etc., and assisting students with applications for enrollment.
Job Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma.
- Two years of full-time or equivalent part-time experience as office receptionist or in customer service.
- Familiarity with security procedures in an academic environment.
- One year of experience that includes frequent use of basic computer skills using Microsoft Office with a high degree of accuracy.
- Experience with database management with a high degree of accuracy.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- High level of organizational and communication skills.
- Demonstrated attention to detail.
- Enthusiasm for working effectively in a global, multicultural academic setting with a diverse population of students, administrators, and faculty, as well as the public and local business organizations.
- Ability to produce work using strong problem-solving skills and an ability to prioritize projects to meet deadlines.
- Must be available for day and evening shifts.
- Flexibility to occasionally alter schedule when coverage is needed.
ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bilingual language skills (reading, writing, listening & speaking) preferably in Portuguese and/or Spanish and English.

Additional Information:
COMPENSATION: $20.00 per hour, up to 18 hours per week. Part-time, Non-benefitted, Non-Unit position, year-round.
