General Manager – Fence Company
Cape Cod Fence Co. in Canton, Connecticut has a rare opportunity to join our team as a General Manager. For more than six decades, our family-owned company has been Connecticut’s leading supplier, designer and installer of high-quality fencing and related products.
The General Manager must have strong workforce management skills to lead our dedicated group of installers, designers and in-house sales and office team members. Experience in the construction trades a must.
The General Manager must possess excellent customer interaction and sales skills to help grow our already busy company.
The ideal candidate will also achieve overall store goals and service objectives while managing and leading the office and installation teams. The General Manager will oversee selection, hiring, development, and coaching of all team members.
Job Requirements:
- Manage and grow professional customer relationships/sales, including building and holding team accountable.
- Build the business within the service territory using a variety of effective sales techniques.
- Ensure execution of all inventory and operation standards
- Target potential customers and assess opportunities for sales.
- Perform job site checks and take daily calls.
- Act as a liaison between in-house sales team, office team, and installers.
- Chase sales leads and achieve revenue targets.
- Work with marketing team to implement wide array of campaigns promoting the business.
- Network with other businesses in the area and build relationships.
- Keep up to date with industry news to identify new opportunities.
- Produce quotes and orders and document sales activities.
Qualifications:
- Strong computer proficiency (Microsoft Office, Excel, etc.)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Decision making and problem-solving skills.
- Proven track record of building business and hitting sales targets.
- Valid driver’s license and authorization to work in the United States
- Ability to meet sales goals, motivate sales, emphasize excellence, manage profitability.
- Strong negotiation skills
- Ability to build relationships.
