About This Role
As an Urgent Care nurse, you'll play a crucial role on our team by supporting the urgent care veterinarian through non-critical, urgent cases that present through the ER service. Such cases will include but are not limited to, bandage changes, ear infections, non-critical urinary issues, and acute lameness. Delivering high-quality patient care is essential, from presentation to discharge, where you can expect to utilize, hone, and increase your skills and knowledge.
Responsibilities and Functions
Perform triage, obtain vitals, gather health histories, and document interactions, information, and observations using EMRs
Utilize technical skills to perform exceptional medical care, including venipuncture and diagnostic imaging.
Communicate and support the urgent care veterinarian and other departments as needed
Educate and support clients through discharge and follow-up instructions, explaining medications, and discussing what to watch for
Be a fundamental member of each patient's healthcare team through advocacy, collaboration, communication, and outpatient teamwork.

Schedules include day into evening hours, weekend shifts, a holiday shift rotation, and potentially on-call hours as needed.
The initial training schedule may differ to ensure optimal training.

Preferred Qualifications
Current CVT, LVT, or RVT, or the ability to obtain licensure within six months
Two years of veterinary general practice experience
