We specialize in providing high-quality urgent care, emergency medicine, surgery, and preventative care for pets in Pittsburgh and the surrounding communities. Established less than three years ago during the pandemic, our mission is to address the growing need for veterinary care, and we've experienced significant growth since our inception.

We are currently looking for a dedicated and experienced Veterinary Technician to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a veterinary technician who is passionate about providing top-notch care for pets in a fast-paced and compassionate environment. At Rivers Veterinary Urgent Care, we are proud to offer a unique blend of services, including alternative medicine such as acupuncture, to provide comprehensive care for our clients' beloved pets.

Position: Veterinary Technician

Job Description:

As a Veterinary Technician at Rivers Veterinary Urgent Care, you will play a crucial role in providing top-notch care for our patients in an urgent care setting. Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Assisting our veterinarians in emergency medicine, surgery, and routine procedures.
  • Preparing and maintaining equipment and surgical suites.
  • Administering medications and treatments as directed by the veterinarian.
  • Monitoring and recording patient vital signs.
  • Educating pet owners on proper care and follow-up instructions.
  • Providing support to our clients and ensuring they have a positive experience during their visit.
  • Collaborating with the team to maintain a clean and organized clinic environment.

Requirements:

  • 2 years or more Veterinary Technician experience.
  • Compassion and genuine love for animals.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new techniques and treatments.
  • Knowledge of alternative medicine, such as acupuncture, is a plus but not required.
