Location Fayetteville, North Carolina Department Environment & Occupancy Safety Department Job Family Professional Work Shift Days (United States of America) Summary Responsible for general administration in planning, coordinating, maintaining, and updating the Cape Fear Valley Health System Emergency Management Plan, including both internal and external event responses, along with annual review of all facilities Hazard Vulnerability Analysis. Responsible for coordinating exercises at all facilities in compliance with CMS and Joint Commission Standards and ensuring appropriate after-action reports are compiled and maintained. Provide necessary project management and support for all emergency preparedness agenda items for Environment of Care Committee as needed. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Education and Formal Training: Associate Degree in Fire Science, Emergency Medical Science, Disaster Management, or related field. Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Completion of NIMS 100, 200, 300, 400, 700 and 800. NC or National Emergency Management Certification. Work Experience: Five (5) years EMS, Fire, and/or Emergency Management experience with at least (2) years in a supervisory or management position. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Working knowledge of mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery of disasters resulting from natural, man-made, or other causes. Knowledge of Incident Command Systems (and Hospital Incident Command Systems), command structure, and mobilization and demobilization procedures. Ability to communicate with community, local, State, and Federal stakeholders on local, regional, State, and Federal representatives in preparedness, response, and recovery from disasters or other significant events. Ability to work under stressful conditions while remaining calm during high-stress, high-risk events. Ability to interact courteously, compassionately, and professionally with co-workers, community, State, and Federal partners. Excellent reading, comprehension, verbal, and correspondence skills. Ability to work abnormal shifts and hours in a disaster or significant event impacting the Health System as a whole or a specific facility or clinic. Physical Requirements: Hearing, speaking, and visual acuity are required for effective supervision. Ability to operate an emergency vehicle and the ability to move around numerous physical locations and within a confined area. Ability to lift heavy objects, up to 150 pounds, with assistance and to assume awkward positions in emergency situations. Position may involve exposure to skin, eye, mucous membrane, or parenteral contact with blood or other potentially infectious materials. Special Requirements: Police background and driving record check with law enforcement agency required.
