Summary
The Credentialing Specialist is responsible for the completion of all provider payer enrollment credentialing and recredentialing activities for all areas of the hospital, maintaining a current physician/AHP database, and maintaining current physician/AHP files. In addition, this individual will work closely with providers to obtain access to payer websites and get signatures for credentialing applications. They will provide general support as necessary to assist in the smooth functioning and operation of the Department.A minimum of two years of experience in provider payer enrollment position in a hospital setting is highly desirable. Payer Enrollment Specialist Certification (PESC) preferred. Knowledge of regulatory CMS, Medicaid, and Tricare requirements related to medical staff services/credentialing is desired. The incumbent must possess a working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Previous experience with credentialing software is desired. Excellent organizational, written and verbal skills and a preference for working with the public and ensuring that the office functions properly are required. Verbal communication abilities are needed to comprehend and communicate effectively with all levels of hospital staff. Works with highly sensitive information and materials, therefore, confidentiality is of utmost importance. Communication skills. Previous experience with credentialing software is desired. Must be able to communicate both verbally and in writing with various education and professional levels and backgrounds. Work is sedentary in nature. May on occasion require attendance on-site at a Cape Fear Valley facility for departmental meetings or activities.Must be able to communicate both verbally and in writing with various education and professional levels and backgrounds.
