Cape Fox Lodge needs a new team member! We are seeking an enthusiastic and professional Front Desk Agent. Someone who enjoys taking care of guests and handling the required back-office tasks will find this position to be a good fit. The Front Desk Agent is responsible for providing quality guest service as it pertains to checking in/out of hotel guests; PBX operations to include mail/message service; taking hotel reservations; and concierge services in a gracious and professional manner. This role requires accuracy with daily accounting procedures. Work hours may vary.
Duties Include:
- Greet, register, and assign rooms to guests of Lodge
- Verify customers' credit and establish how the customer will pay for the accommodation
- Keep records of room availability and guests' accounts via computers
- Compute bills, collect payments, and make change for guests
- Perform simple bookkeeping activities, such as balancing cash accounts
- Issue room keys
- Review accounts and charges with guests during the check-out process
- Post charges, such those for rooms, food, liquor, etc. to ledgers using computers
- Transmit and receive messages, using telephones or telephone switchboards
- Contact housekeeping or maintenance staff when guests report problems
- Make and confirm reservations
- Answer inquiries pertaining to hotel services, registration of guests, and shopping, dining, entertainment, and travel directions
- Record guest comments or complaints, referring customers to managers as necessary
- Advise housekeeping staff when rooms have been vacated and are ready for cleaning
- Arrange tours, taxis, or restaurant reservations for customers
- Deposit guests' valuables in hotel safes or safe-deposit boxes
- If qualified, may drive hotel shuttle van to transport guests to and from airport ferry and other transportation facilities
Job Requirements:
- At least 6-months of experience in a similar role is preferred
- High School diploma or equivalent is required
- Prefer candidates 21 years of age or older due to liquor sales in adjacent gift shop
- Skills in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook are desired
- Experience with additional hotel management or accounting software is desired
- Customer oriented, friendly, and energetic
- Ability to work under pressure between phone calls, customers at the desk and other surrounding noises
- Must have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
