Cape Fox Lodge is seeking a Server to join the Heen Kahidi team. The Server is responsible for providing an enjoyable experience for the guests and be the main point of communication with the kitchen and bar. The Server engages in friendly conversation with guests to make them feel comfortable and to provide a hospitable environment, delivering food on time and at the correct temperature. Maintaining cleanliness in the restaurant is pivotal, along with correcting any issues with meals.
Duties Include:
- Check patrons' identification to ensure that they meet minimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beverages
- Take orders from patrons for food or beverages and enter orders into computers for transmittal to kitchen staff
- Check with customers to ensure that they are enjoying their meals and take action to correct any problems
- Serve food or beverages to patrons and prepare or serve specialty dishes at tables as required using a serving tray and tray stand
- Prepare checks that itemize and total meal costs and sales taxes; collect payments from customers
- Remove dishes and glasses from tables or counters and take them to the kitchen for cleaning
- Present menus to patrons and answer questions about menu items, making recommendations upon request
- Inform customer of daily specials
- Clean tables or counters after patrons have finished dining
- Prepare hot, cold, and mixed drinks for patrons, and chill bottles of wine
- Prepare tables for meals, including setting up items such as linens, silverware, and glassware
- Perform food preparation duties such as preparing salads, dressings, appetizers, and cold dishes, portioning desserts and brewing coffee
- Clean and maintain areas and items in the restaurant, bar, and banquet rooms
Job Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior relevant work experience is a plus
- Customer oriented, friendly, and energetic demeanor
- Ability to work under pressure and multi-task
- Ability to obtain Food Handlers Certification
- Ability to obtain TAPS Certification
- Must be legally able to serve alcohol
- Authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
